/writ

Script-provided

Registered by writ. Start it with /lua run writ.

Syntax

/writ go [x N]
/writ items | stop | status | cfg

Description

Automates tradeskill work orders (writs) end to end: walk to the writ NPC, accept the writ, read its objectives, craft every item on the list, and turn it in — then loop for the next one.

The script stays resident once loaded. It is built for a guild-hall setup where the writ NPC, the Work Order Clipboard, and a crafting station are all in reach; the NPC, clipboard, station, and the /nav route names it walks are set in a CFG block at the top of lua/writ.lua — edit those to match your hall.

Subcommands

Subcommand What
go [x N] Run N writs (default 1), auto-detecting each writ's recipes. /writ go x5 runs five.
items Probe the current writ's objectives — the recipe names and quantities it parsed.
stop Stop after the current step finishes.
status Print the daemon's current state.
cfg Print the configured NPC / clipboard / station / route names.

What one writ loop does

  1. /nav go <route> to walk to the writ NPC.
  2. Hail the NPC and advance the conversation.
  3. Select the writ dialogue and accept the quest.
  4. Interact Search Invoices on the Work Order Clipboard, then Look for your invoice.
  5. Read the quest objectives — auto-detecting recipe names and quantities.
  6. /nav go <route> reverse to walk back to the station.
  7. Interact Create on the crafting station.
  8. Craft every item on the parsed list through the shared craft engine.
  9. Accept the reward / turn in, and loop.

Objective phrasing varies

Writ objective lines change wording by level and often name the item, not the recipe (e.g. objective "Rune of X" ← recipe "X"). The parser matches loosely and strips a leading "Rune of " when resolving the recipe.

Examples

/lua run writ # load and stay resident
/writ items # see what the current writ wants
/writ go # run one writ
/writ go x5 # run five writs back to back
/writ stop # stop after the current step
/lua stop writ # unload
