/dps¶
Script-provided
Registered by damagemeter. Start it with /lua run damagemeter.
Syntax¶
/dps reset | status | pause on|off
/dps metric done|taken
/dps report
/dps npc | roster | dump
/dps pet owner|separate
/dps keep <n>
Description¶
A live combat damage meter. It parses the combat chat into per-source, per-ability
and per-encounter totals and draws a Details-style sorted bar list in an ImGui
window. /lua run damagemeter opens the window; /dps tunes it.
Subcommands¶
| Command | What |
|---|---|
reset |
Clear all encounters, including saved ones. |
status |
Print parse stats — a rising unparsed count usually means a combat-chat filter is off (see below). |
metric done / taken |
Switch the meter between damage done and damage taken. |
report |
Post the current top rows to /gsay. Debounced so a double-press can't spam group chat. |
pause on / off |
Freeze or resume aggregation without closing the window. |
npc |
Toggle whether NPCs are shown in the list. |
pet owner / separate |
Roll pet/merc damage into the owner's row, or list pets separately. |
keep <n> |
Keep only the top n rows. |
roster |
Print the players and NPCs currently tracked. |
dump |
Dump the captured rows to the console (diagnostics). |
Encounters¶
Each encounter is saved to
config/damagemeter/<Character>/encounters/ as it closes — one small file per
close — so past fights survive a reload. /dps reset clears the live model and
those saved files.
Pets and mercs are attributed to their owner by default (/dps pet owner); use
/dps pet separate to give them their own rows.
Combat-chat filters¶
The meter reads the game's combat spam, so it can only count what the client is
told to print. If /dps status shows a high unparsed count or rows look empty,
check that combat damage messages (yours, others', and incoming) are enabled in
the EverQuest II chat/combat filter options. A few percent of unusual lines going
unparsed is expected.
