/transmute

Script-provided

Registered by transmute. Start it with /lua run transmute.

Syntax

/transmute <name> <qty>
/transmute go <name> <qty>
/transmute stop | status
/transmute debug on|off
/transmute arg1 [id|auto|clear]

Description

Transmute stacks of items from your bags by name. /transmute <name> <qty> is a dry run — it prints the exact commands it would send without touching anything; /transmute go <name> <qty> actually runs them. Built for the transmuting daily and for clearing junk gear into transmuting materials.

Subcommands

Command What
<name> <qty> Dry run. Print the planned cast/commit commands for up to <qty> items matching <name>. Sends nothing.
go <name> <qty> Actually transmute <qty> items matching <name>, one at a time.
stop Stop after the current item.
status Show state (running, arg1 source, etc.).
debug on / off Verbose per-step logging.
arg1 [id\|auto\|clear] Manage the transmute target id (see below). Bare arg1 shows it, auto re-reads it live, <id> sets a manual fallback, clear forgets it.

There are also two RE diagnostics: probe <name> dumps the record ids of the first matching item, and whatis <id> identifies what a raw id refers to (inventory item, equipped gear, or spawn).

Dry-run first

The dry run exists because transmuting destroys the item. Always run /transmute <name> <qty> first and read the planned cast / commit lines before /transmute go. If an item doesn't get consumed after a go, the script halts rather than blindly continuing — the target-id mapping is probably wrong for the current client build, and it tells you to re-run the dry run and compare against a fresh debug/cmdspy capture.

About arg1

The transmute commit carries a target id (arg1) that is the Transmute ability's own selector/instance id, not a container or bag. The script reads it live from a game field each run, so normally you never touch it. If that read ever goes stale after a patch, /transmute arg1 auto re-reads it and /transmute arg1 <id> lets you pin a known-good value by hand.

Ships armed

/transmute go sends real destroy/transmute commands. Confirm the commit line against a dry run before running it, especially after a game patch.
