/walkto

Script-provided

Registered by walkto. Start it with /lua run walkto.

Syntax

/walkto <destination>
/walkto status | clear

Description

Walks to a zone line, NPC, or shop in the current zone, navmesh-routed. The destination is matched against the local EQ2Map points-of-interest for the zone you're standing in.

Not the same job as /travelto: that one commits a destination on the fast-travel map or a zone-door version picker and never walks. /walkto only ever walks somewhere physically present in your current zone — no bells, druid rings, or cross-zone pathing.

Subcommands

Subcommand What
<destination> Walk to the named POI. The whole rest of the line is the destination text.
<poi id> Walk to an exact EQ2Map POI id — use this when several POIs share a name.
status Print the current job state.
clear Cancel the current walk.

It resolves the destination against static on-disk POI data (lib.zonepoi) rather than the actor table, because a zone line or NPC often hasn't streamed in until you're already near it — which is exactly the position the walk needs before it can path there. A navmesh for the zone gives the best routing; without one, movement falls back to straight-line.

Examples

/lua run walkto
/walkto Rivervale
/walkto 36006 # exact POI id, disambiguating a shared name
/lua run walkto Rivervale # one-shot form, queued as the first job
