/buttonmaster

Script-provided

Registered by buttonmaster (alias /btn). Start it with /lua run buttonmaster.

Syntax

/buttonmaster [toggle] | show | hide | reset | status
/buttonmaster exec <set> <index>

Description

A configurable ImGui button grid — one window per character, with drag-reorderable tabs ("sets"), each a grid of buttons that run commands when clicked. A clockwork/EQ2 port of MacroQuest's ButtonMaster.

Also answers to the short alias /btn.

Subcommands

Subcommand What
toggle Show/hide the window. (Bare /buttonmaster does the same.)
show / hide Force the window open / closed.
reset Reset window position/size.
exec <set> <index> Fire the button at that 1-based index in that set, as if clicked.
status Print current state.

Buttons

  • Click runs the button's command(s); right-click opens its editor.
  • Each non-comment line of a button's Cmd is handed to eq2.cmd — so it takes both native EQ2 verbs and clockwork slash commands (e.g. /jidou ...).
  • A Cmd whose first line is --lua (or -- lua) is instead compiled and run as a Lua chunk.

Cooldown / toggle rings

v1 ships one timer type, Custom Lua. A button may carry three Lua expressions:

Field Returns Effect
TimerLua seconds remaining until usable (number) fills the ring by remaining/total
CooldownLua total cooldown length in seconds (number) the ring's denominator
ToggleLua button is locked/active (boolean) paints the whole button, for stances/toggles

EQ1-style Spell Gem / AA / Disc / Item / Ability / Seconds timer types are deliberately dropped — none map cleanly onto EQ2.

Config

  • The button/set library is shared across the box: config/buttonmaster/library.lua.
  • Which sets a character shows, and their order, live in a small per-character file: config/buttonmaster/<Character>/tabs.lua.

Examples

/lua run buttonmaster
/btn # toggle the window
/btn exec Main 3 # fire button at index 3 of the "Main" set
/btn hide
